Cindy Peyser Safronoff is an independent researcher focused on women’s empowerment and Christian Science history. She has presented her research on Mary Baker Eddy's influence in Seattle at the 2018 conference for the Center for Studies on New Religions (CESNUR) in Taiwan, 2019 in Turin, Italy, and has been accepted for 2021 in Quebec, Canada.
Safronoff is the author of Crossing Swords: Mary Baker Eddy vs. Victoria Claflin Woodhull and the Battle for the Soul of Marriage (This One Thing, 2015), winner of ten book awards including 2016 Illumination Book Awards’ Enduring Light Bronze Metal in Christian Thought, 2016 Independent Publisher Book Awards’ Silver in Women’s Issues, and 2015 New England Book Festival winner in Regional Literature; and featured by the Sunday Boston Globe.
